Westword's Description

Chef Teri Rippeto's little garden restaurant is a longtime favorite of Denver's better chefs, mostly because the place never, ever disappoints. The kitchen is one of the best-educated in town when it comes to the notion of cooking and eating in concert with the seasons. Locality is not a trend here, it’s a way of life – for Rippeto and, she hopes, anyone who walks through the doors. “If I can do it on this huge scale, then maybe in some way the restaurant will inspire people to do it on a small scale for themselves,” she notes. From the entirely seasonal, garden-driven menu (produce is listed along with the name of its farmer) to the comforting service (60 percent of the customers are regulars, and with good reason) and plain-as-plaster dining room (cozy but threadbare armchairs), Potager is comfortable in its own skin, and isn’t that a more reasonable goal than perfection?

Merchant's Description

Potager Restaurant opened its doors in 1997, started by Teri Rippeto and her father, Tom. From the beginning Teri and Tom have tried to do things the right way. The menu changes each month, designed and composed to show off the finest ingredients available, including fish, meat, and poultry.

Teri and Potager have become convinced that the best tasting food is organically grown and harvested in ways that ecologically sound and by people who are taking care of the land for future generations. The search for these ingredients has largely determined the cuisine.

Delicious, fresh, organic food! It's a little pricey, but worth it. Unique atmosphere and decor. I recommend making a reservation and leaving early to find parking.

The food, service, and atmosphere at Potager are amazing. The ingredients are fresh, local, and in-season. The gnocchi appetizer, and the smoked fish appetizer were unbelievable! Yum.

Potager has the best natural, locally farmed food at a restaurant in Denver. Never EVER a dissapointment. Order the chicken!

As far as I'm concerned, this is the best restaurant in Denver. It's a shining example of the verve that makes Denver unique. Bravo!
