The kitchen at Julia Blackbird's finally has put all the pieces together. The dining room still looks like something concocted by the Santa Fe tourism board, but the menu offers very genuine fare. This is classic, homegrown New Mexican comfort food, everything from simple burritos and calabacitas to an excellent posole, grilled elote, fideo and rellenos (fried hard, not eggy).
Tips from foursquare
First time here and it took nearly an hour to get our tacos. The tacos were not great either! The tortillas are stale. Slow service and not great food. Wouldn't recommend…
Strawberry lemonade is wonderful! I agree though, the enchilada plate was bland.
Skip the bland enchiladas, go for the tasty chicken cordon green instead.
Great food, slow service.
Heard this place was great. Tonight, maybe the owner was not working, but it sucked! Seriously... Even the beans sucked the flavor from you mouth.
