The Demeris family has been serving Houstonians barbecue since 1964. This casual concept serves traditional barbecue like ribs, sausage, chicken or turkey; if you stop by the Shepherd location, you'll find a few extras like steaks, shrimp and fajitas. For take home meals, you can get up to a gallon of any particular side, including their house-made barbecue sauce. You can also order off the menu and get their Big Puma Tater, a loaded baked potato topped with turkey and barbecue sauce that's the favorite dish of former Astro/current Yankee Lance Berkman.
