If you can get past the initial hesitation you have for being at the far end of Maple Avenue's industrial area, there's a warm little bar that will greet you. DD's Corner is a watering hole for the working class, generally populated by groups of construction workers, servers or industry people looking to drink without disturbance. With a few tables, several slot machines and a jukebox that won't quit, the converted little house holds a staff that knows its customers by name.
I was there Saturday afternoon, had a GREAT time. This was my first time in there, very friendly clientle, ice cold beer. Did not see slot machines the observer had mentioned in ads. No problem, watched football game and had great conversation with everyone. :)
Great little hidden secret in the Love Field vicinity. Old school atmosphere with cheap drink prices.A "Cheers" style place where everybody knows your name and greets you with a smile. One trip and you'll be a "regular".Nice patio, fun people, a variety of bar games,(pool, darts, shuffleboard. pac-man, video bartops, dominos, ect) The food is great and free dishes are offered daily.Don't miss this little jewel at the corner of Maple and Hawes, one blk north of Mockingbird!
