If the holiday season means watching bowl games and packing on the pounds via less-than healthy foodstuffs, then a nice bike ride with friends to reinvigorate the system is in order. Or maybe you’ve resolved simply to spend more time on two wheels in the New Year? In either case, stretch those legs and pump those lungs with the first group ride of 2013. It's the first-ever ride, actually, for the recently formed Downtown Bicycle Action Group (a.k.a. DBAG). This leisurely pedal meanders to the Angel’s Trumpet Ale House, 810 North Second Street, where the new group will toss a few back while holding a community meeting to discuss local cycling issues including outreach, awareness, advocacy, safety, accessibility, and education.

Arrive ready to ride at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, January 6, under the bridge (please, no RHCP references) at Margaret T. Hance Park
