This is undoubtedly one of the city's finest and most authentic Italian restaurants. Damian's feels like a little piece of Tuscany right here in Midtown Houston. This white tablecloth, fine-dining restaurant has long-term, knowledgeable waiters. The cold antipasto misto plate is always worth trying. Fresh pasta dishes abound, and whether it's a simple spaghetti Bolognese or a more complex tortellini alla panna, they never disappoint. The osso buco is timeless and the veal chop enough for two. Try the traditional rosemary roasted potatoes with any dish. The dessert cart never fails to impress.

Definitely the best for Italian. I have a few spots that I always go back to, and this is one of them.
One of the great things about dining at Damian's -- in addition to the fact that it's one of the best Italian restaurants in town, with service to match -- is its shuttle service. When you make a reservation, let them know you'll be attending the theater, symphony or any other show downtown. They will not only take you to your venue after your meal in a comfortable bus, but will also pick you up for coffee and dessert at the end of the show. That way, not only can you enjoy dishes... This time-honored Tuscan-style restaurant has been purring along for decades, turning out classic Italian cuisine. The grilled seasonal vegetables are a favorite appetizer, and there's a wide variety of antipasti. The pasta with seafood in cream sauce is stellar, and the veal chops are legendary. But in the last few months, Damian's has gone from good to great, thanks to an extensive renovation. The carpeting, the windows and the lighting are all brand-new, and the look is more... More »
It is overwhelming to walk in the front door of this dark and clubby old haunt. To your left, there's the reception stand, where you are offered an uncommonly gracious greeting. Right in front of you, a fabulous array of antipasti plates is spread out on a low table. To your right, a dark and comfortable-looking bar beckons. Should you opt for the dining room, you will be treated to the best selection of authentic Tuscan pasta dishes and Italian-style grilled chops in the city. But if... More »
