Description

Dallas Observer's Description

Urbano Café is a restaurant that resists classification. A veal Bolognese and risotto served with a number of entrees will have you thinking you’re in a quaint Italian BYOB, but then a pork belly special riddled with Asian flavors will keep you guessing.

Split into two dining rooms in a shopping plaza that hosts Spiceman’s FM 1410 and Jimmy’s Food Store, Urbano Café makes good use of the greens that are grown just footsteps away. Don’t miss the meatballs resting on bed of parsnip puree with sautéed onions and a veal reduction, or the Hawaiian ceviche, which will make you wonder why salmon is served any other way. The cooking is creative and interesting here. You will not be bored. You should consider reservations, though. Urbano Café has impressed the neighborhood for years now and it's garnered a consistent and enthusiastic following.

Urbano offers inspired and fresh nightly chalkboard specials with locally sourced ingredients in a tiny, cozy setting. The BYOB policy makes it an affordable weeknight choice. [Eater 38 Member]

Make a reservation!!! Only 9 tables in the place!

Scallops and pumpkin raviolis are my favorite. Be sure to ask Evan to be your waitor. He's the best!

  • Penny K. on 04/02/13

Great spot for lunch: get the Urbano club or pumpkin ravioli!

  • Lindsey C. on 06/13/12

A sweet ambience that is full of life and laughter yet accommodating for any dinner conversation. A destination spot for any local.
