Description

Dallas Observer's Description

Jason Boso’s burger empire was built on hard work. An appearance on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives didn’t hurt things either. Come here for well-done grease bombs in a space that oozes personality. Customers get special names to mark their orders (I was Jesse James once) and can serve themselves pickle slices from plastic tubs while they wait for their meals.

If you’re feeling adventurous, there’s way more than beef on the menu. Bison, ostrich, kangaroo and other exotic animals have been featured on the menu in burger form -- once, even a burgered beaver. Wash it down with a cup of sweet and creamy Twisted Root Beer.

Really great burger and fried goodness. The seating situation stresses me out though with big crowds...ugh!

Commerce must be the street for good burgers, between Twisted Root and Angry Dog. So good, and definitely a go-to when you need hangover food.

Tips from foursquare

  • Justin P. on 06/20/09

Love the burgers, but watch out for the chipotle sauce, they say it is pretty HOT!

  • Devin P. on 06/17/10

Be adventurous. Order the wild game, like ostrich or venison. Healthier for you, and damned tasty.

  • Amanda A. on 12/30/09

Worth the wait just for the pickles!

  • Fortune Magazine on 06/25/12

Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, told FORTUNE that this hidden gem has “a buffalo burger salad that I live off of."

  • The Feast on 06/12/11

Top patties of elk, venison, ostrich, boar, emu, kangaroo and antelope meat with house-made pickles and sauces. Wash it down with a spiked milkshake.
