Dallas Observer's Description

CLOSED The name might conjure conflicting images of Yankees players, gang warfare and bohemians sipping their café Americains while taking drags from Gauloises cigarettes and arguing vehemently about post-structuralism. And if you consider the décor of The Bronx Café, you wouldn't be too far off the mark. It's conflicting, all right. The "Lupe" Room, appropriately, has an Our Lady of Guadalupe painting as its centerpiece. The interior ceiling is made of pressed tin, from which hang modern light fixtures. Potted plants hanging next to plastic jack o' lanterns frame the covered patio. The menu is all over the map, aiming to please all diners. Quesadillas share table space with burgers and a reuben. Migas sit next to lox and bagels. Disparate entrées include a classic pot roast, grilled citrus-ginger salmon filet with rice pilaf and a chicken artichoke-mushroom sauté.

    Apricot pie!

Stop in for Sunday brunch. It's not been overran by the straight crowd like some places. The good is great for brunch and not super expensive. Ask for David as your waiter, he's the best!

  • Michelle G. on 04/10/10

The employees are really nice, and their brunch is delish! Love bottomless mimosas!
