Description

Dallas Observer's Description

Sired by Teiichi Sakurai in 1995 and since sold while Sakurai focuses on Tei An in One Arts Plaza, Teppo still floats to the top of the Dallas sushi outposts, now as thick as krill across our own special cowboy concrete landscape. Teppo riles with its compelling, often perverse sense of sushi doctrine: green tea-infused edamame, grilled Alaskan king crab, skewers of chicken, duck and beef tongue. Flounder carpaccio in a mango-hued splash of uni spritz. Mundane sushi options dance with pristine lushness. Spanish mackerel shimmers like a clinging, silvery chemise. These are the affairs of the racy menu.

Tips from foursquare

  • Eater on 01/21/13

A Lower Greenville mainstay, Teppo offers incredibly fresh sushi and rotating offerings of tasty bivalves like razor clams and oysters in a sleek but cozy atmosphere. [Eater 38 Member]

  • The Feast on 06/11/11

This Greenville Avenue spot is a gem in every sense. It's small, intimate and the sushi is out of this world. Bonus: it's open late-night for post-bar hopping booze absorption.

  • Dallas Observer on 07/30/13

Teppo gets a bonus for having the best mackerel that's ever graced my palate. If you live anywhere near East Dallas, make this your neighborhood spot.

  • Rondo E. on 06/07/12

    Mad meatsicles, yo!

  • TC on 10/27/11

Absolutely the best sushi in Dallas but "shhh" don't tell anybody!
