Taco Stop

Map & Directions 1900 Irving Blvd.
Dallas, TX 75207

Dallas Observer's Description

The Design District's Taco Shop will cure your previous evening's excess. "Hangover Helper" is a warm cup of sustenance for which owner Emilia Flores cooks down beef shanks to make a rich broth that she dresses up with freshly chopped cilantro and a big hit of lime juice. Its only fault is the tiny cup in which it's served. You'll crave a take-home thermos. Tacos come in breakfast and lunch versions. Get the Chicken Alambre if you want a little chorizo to dress up your pollo, or the Chicken Little if you're adverse to swine. Rib-eye and sirloin cover the beef bases. Vegetarians can enjoy a veggie taco filled with mushrooms, bell peppers and onions. There are also assorted sodas and aguas frescas.

I live in Mexico and went to Dallas for a week (vacation), a friend recomended me this place and we (my two daughters and me) loved it!! The best barbacoa! The chorizo and egg taco, the whole menu really good and fresh made! Worth the five minutes wait! They have three or four different salsas, really good specially the habanero, we'll definitetly go back next time!

Completely screwed up my order, the tacos were incredibly small, they forgot the salsa, it was only meat and tortillas, where were my onions and cilantro and bacon as promised. Do yourself a favor and go a mile down the road to fuel city and get their tacos, much better for cheaper, and they get your order right

You can't go wrong with anything on the menu! The steak mexicana tacos for breakfast and the prime rib tacos for lunch are amazing!!!! The chicken alambre is also a must try!

Authentic flavorful tacos! A little on the small side for heavy eaters, so get a trio at least if you're famished.

  • Amy T. on 09/11/13

Almost everything on the menu can be made gluten. Everything is delicious.

Tacos are amazing! My favorite are the barbacoa tacos! You can call in your order to skip the wait.
