Dallas, TX 75206
Dallas Observer's Description
The two-dollar tacos offered seem traditional enough but this establishment draws the hip and young attracted by the minor, safe spins on tacos. There's a fish taco, either grilled or fried, with red cabbage, cilantro and chipotle crema. There's the rajas (grilled poblano chiles, mushroom, onion and red pepper with queso fresco) as well as the eponymous Rusty (achiote pork with charred pineapple). The brisket is topped with cotija. Of course, breakfast tacos of the usual lot are also available. All this in a former gas station outfitted in industrial/mid-century chic with lines that spill out onto the shaded 30-table patio.
Tips from foursquare
Drop less than a Jackson on a run at all 9 different $2 tacos at this Robert Earl Keen-blaring, fast, cheap, boozy taqueria carved into an old Just Brakes garage.
Not every taco joint has brisket tacos, so get 'em while you can here.
I've heard the breakfast tacos are SUPER DELICIOUS!
Never had a wait issue... Don't show up at noon and ur in good shape.
Try the Fajita or Brisket Tacos, they really are the best.
