Rangers Ballpark in Arlington
Arlington, TX 76011-5164
Dallas Observer's Description
Home of our beloved Texas Rangers, this behemoth of a baseball stadium that seats 50,000 screaming fans has loomed over the city of Arlington since its debut in 1994. The architects clearly had their eyes on the baseball stadiums of yesteryear, so the classically styled ballpark has plenty of retro details like arched windows and elaborate stone carvings. Although the Rangers have come agonizingly close to clinching the World Series in recent years, the stadium is perhaps even more (in)famous these days for its absurd concessions creations, like the 2-foot hot dog known as the Boomstick and buckets o’ nachos served in plastic baseball helmets.
Tips from foursquare
True story: distance-wise, Arlington’s upper deck is the farthest away from the diamond in MLB history. Talk about nosebleeds…
The natural grass batter's eye in center field was named for former Arlington Mayor Richard Greene in November 1997.
The Ballpark at Arlington is a unique complex. Other than the ballpark, the area includes a children's learning center, a four-story office building and much more!
Root for the home team, not the Yankees or Red Sox.
