Dallas Observer's Description

This Houston fine-dining import began life as a butcher shop in 1979. Since then, Chris Perry, son of founder Bob Perry, has opened eight other Texas locations. Among them is this Uptown branch adjacent to the Ritz Carlton Hotel. The restaurant's name speaks to bricks of buttery filet mignon and rib-eyes. Those are certainly available, the former topped with crab meat. Perry's signature protein, however, is its famous pork chop, amply served at a reduced price for lunch on Pork Chop Fridays. Whether you're seated in the seven-table wine cellar or one of the main dining rooms, the beef ordered in this elegant, earth-toned establishment is hand-selected, USDA prime and dry-aged for 28 days. Just don't confuse it with the original Dallas-based Perry's Steakhouse, which was forced to change its name to the Place at Perry's when the Houston export came to town.
