Dallas, TX 75201

Dallas Observer's Description

Located downtown on the corner of Pearl and Commerce Streets, Pearl is housed in a two-story structure originally built in 1903. Since then, the building's housed several businesses like the Hall Remedy Co. and the Donovan Undertaking Co. (the last one, they say, "explains the ghosts"). Today, this bar and music venue that, according to its website, caters to a "diverse, mostly 30's and up crowd," hosts a wide variety of musical talent but specializes in primarily blues and jazz acts, with the occasional foray into zydeco, Latin and reggae. Inside there's plenty of seating with a good view of the stage. The bar has happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. when $3 wells and domestic longnecks are offered.

this is a really cool bar to hear great blues music. sunday night seems to bea good night to go. for what little cover charge they have, you get a lot of live entertainment for your money. the drinks are good, the bartenders are great, the crowd is cool. there is food, drawings for free stuff and just a good place to hang out and feel you get more than your moneys worth. i give it a 10 any day.

Best little live music room in town. Mostly blues and jazz. Great happy hour specials too!

Just do it! Have a drink and call your favorite restaurant to deliver a meal right to the bar! My favorite shows to-date: Janiva Magness and Miss Marcy.
