Description

Dallas Observer's Description

Lucia may be the one restaurant in Dallas that needs no introduction. Have a special occasion you’d like to mark? Get a reservation at Lucia. Looking for an impressive first date? Lucia again. Craving delicate pasta and other Italian specialties that inspire visions of Tuscany in spring? You get the idea. Lucia anchors Dallas’ Oak Cliff neighborhood as a place to be and puts Dallas on the map as a dining destination. No wonder reservations need booking more than a month in advance. Of course it doesn’t help that the dining room isn’t much larger than a postage stamp. Those adverse to planning ahead have once chance for salvation. Four seats line the back bar and peer into the kitchen that's responsible for some of the best Italian cooking Dallas has ever seen. The seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You'd better get there early.

Tips from foursquare

A table at Lucia is one of the toughest ressies in Dallas, not b/c they're saving space for snobby VIPs, but b/c David Uygur's homespun Italian resto only serves 16 tables/night. [Eater 38 Member]

Opening soon, it's a 30-seat, Northern Italian-inspired spot whose specialty promises to be attention to detail, meaning house-made salumi and gelati that would be the talk of Milan.

  • Susie O. on 12/18/10

Definitely get all four courses. Nothing at this resto should be forgone.

Best restaurant in Dallas. Amazing food, laid back bistro atmosphere and friendly owners. Foie gras stuffed prunes, salumi platter & chicken liver crostini my current favs.

  • Robyn F. on 12/13/11

Best restaurant in DFW w/ wondrous food. Top-notch service & perfect bistro vibe. Lovely owners in Chef Uygur and wife/hostess Jennifer. Call at 1st of month for hard to get reservations. Perfection.
