Dallas Observer's Description

This restaurant has a patio pool out back. Yes, a pool, a pool with fountains. It also hosts one of Lower Greenville's most rocking St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Aside from those distinctions, J. Pepe's offers a long list of Tex-Mex dishes and margaritas. The house specialties include the fajita chicken poblano chile relleno, which also comes with a chicken enchilada, rice and beans. There's also the pollo crème de coco with a shrimp and vegetable chimichanga. What Tex-Mex joint worth its weight in tortillas would not have hefty combo platters? J Pepe's obliges with the likes of Jimmy's (one shrimp or steak taco in a soft corn tortilla, one chicken enchilada with sour cream sauce and one chicken tostada) and a side of live music.

Fish tacos are really good - not overcooked and covered with a lime sauce. If it's summer, sit on the north side of the front patio, too. The misters from the store next door are vicious.
