Dallas Observer's Description

Hidden away in a strip mall, pushed back from the road by an expansive parking lot, Ibex isn't the easiest restaurant to find. But explorers willing to drive the underdeveloped strand of upper Greenville Avenue would do well to seek out this authentic Ethiopian spot. The traditional tables are small and intimate, keeping your friends within reach while lending themselves to sharing. And the menu is easy to navigate, sporting prices that are more than kind to your bottom line. While Ibex feels most like a restaurant, on weekend evenings the small stage with large speakers is put to use as the mostly Ethiopian clientele drinks beer by the pitcher and DJs play dance music, turning Ibex into a club of sorts. It's a completely different scene from Sunday's serene afternoon brunch, and both are worth exploring.

Great food and extremely friendly service. It was a great first time experience for me.

I've only eaten Ethiopian a few times. This wasn't fancy, but very good food. Also a great DJ playing Ethiopian tunes, and good nightlife atmosphere.
