Dallas Observer's Description

This Ginger Man location in an old two-story house really takes the "public house" origins of the word seriously. The pub offers up picnic style seating in the beer garden out back, an upstairs lounge with its own bar, and a balcony with still more picnic tables under a covered patio. This Ginger Man has been serving patrons in the Uptown area for nearly 20 years. Today, the bar has more than 80 draft beers to choose from, with another 100 or so bottled beer offerings. Downstairs, there's a spacious dog-friendly patio, but Ginger Man tends to fill up quickly -- inside and out -- during happy hours, as do all the nearby parking spots. If you like a good ghost story, just ask the bar staff or one of the servers, as there are rumors the old house-turned-pub is haunted.

good place, great service & above all great Beer! I was given the suggestions to: Founders Dirty Bastard and Trumer Pilsner; Both were excellent suggestions and beers I had never tried. Thank you Connor and The Ginger Man for increasing my faith and gaining a permanent fixture.

What is the ambiance or crowd like? What is the best night to go? Is there a cover charge or door list to get in?

Try the Apple Cider Beer...a perfect compliment to a winter night.

Try a new beer you've never tried before! Check the board for their new drafts!

  • I knew a burly Irishman on a Hawaiian farm who went by “The Ginger Man.” He had the hands of an ox, which made it extremely difficult for him to use a shovel.

The Beer Companion is a must-try.
