Description

Dallas Observer's Description

Popular isn't a sufficient adjective to describe this shop specializing in chef Jay Valley's prepared eats. During lunch, Eatzi's seems to be nothing but lines. There are long lines at the counter; there are long lines for the cash register. Yet, the customers brave it all, deeming it all worth it. The Box Lunches are worth it. The entrées, like the Kobe meatloaf and the salmon croquettes, are worth it. So are the cakes and pies. Salads are big with customers in need of a quick, light lunch. But it's more than a midday meal spot. Breakfast see folks stopping in for the cherry cheese pinwheel, carrot pecan muffin and platters to share with their office mates.

Walking distance from home.. Already a plus.. Great bread, cacciatore salami and other items you can't find in other grocery stores.

Love this place...free samples and go after 9pm as they mark down merchandise 50% to make fresh for the next day.

Dear Eatzi's My Family & I had dinner tonight at the Market. And it was pathetic food the Roast Beef was like trying to eat leather boot there was no flavor . The only flavor it had was of a metal pan .The beef should have been cooked a lot longer and slower and the for the price of the dinner you should get more than an ounce and a half of beef. The Mashedpotatos need more milk... More >>

If you wait until 9pm, they put red dots on tons of fresh food items that are buy-one-get-one-FREE from 9pm 'til close! All bread is included - grab some YUMMY Southwest Spread to go with for apps!

  • S.Fez on 06/30/10

If you go near closing time, 9ish their food is greatly discounted! They have to get rid of everything to start with fresh food the next day. Who doesn't love FRESH!!!

  • alex on 03/03/11

The cornbread is slap ya momma good! No lies!

  • Dallas Observer on 01/23/13
