Burger Island 2
Richardson, TX 75080
Dallas Observer's Description
If we were stranded on a desert island, the meal weâd likely be left longing for is, without a doubt, a nice juicy burger. With that in mind, Burger Island in Richardson seems appropriately named, despite its lack of proximity to any major bodies of water. Hidden in a strip mall behind a Taco Bell, this small counter-service spot offers burgers, fries and shakes, plus palm trees painted on the walls for, er, ambiance. Half-pound burgers are the main attraction. Choose your own toppings from a small list of gut-busting options like chili, guacamole, grilled onions and bacon, or go for one of the house specialties like the Hickory Burger or the Pizza Cheeseburger. True adventure-seekers can opt for the Jungle Burger, which piles on practically every topping in the house. If french fries just wonât do, thereâs a ton of other fried options like pickles, mushrooms and stuffed jalapeños.
Tips from foursquare
Get their Philly Chessesteak sandwhich. It's worth every dollar.
Grab a Jungle Burger - 1/2 lb topped with everything you can imagine. It has stuff I usually don't like, but put it all together and it's delicious!
Tuesday Special - 1/2 lb cheeseburger, small fries & 16oz drink - $5.00+tax.
Natural cut fries taste infinitely better than they look!
Fried mushrooms are great, but the burger itself is amazing. I tried the Big Island burger and was very happy. The meat is delicious.
