Dallas Observer's Description

It’s a wild scene at Bryan Street Tavern on weekends. Indie-rock and punk acts perform in the music venue, a separate room located in the back of the bar, while other patrons play pool or sit and eat pizza from the bar’s kitchen. A glass shatters on the floor, but only a few look up at the commotion. It’s a dive, but a good one. The low ceilings and wood-paneled walls aren’t much to look at, but the drinks are cheap and the company is good. Obscure soul and R&B on the stereo offer padding to drunken conversations well into the morning. Bryan Street Tavern isn’t a bar you stop in; it’s a bar you close down.

Tips from foursquare

  • Nic. H. on 12/01/10

1/2 price wings, 2.50 domestics on Wednesdays.

  • Kristie A. on 06/04/10

    $2 wells on Thursday

  • Ian L. on 02/26/10

The pizza here is one of the best around. Get the tavern favorite for extreme tastbud overload.

  • Mary on 05/04/11

Wednesdays are now 1/2 priced apps and 1/2 priced bottles of wine. Some of the best wings in Dallas and the blue cheese rocks. @wingsacrosstexas has them highly rated.

  • Jeff S. on 03/22/13

The pizza and service used to be awesome but something funky happened to this place. We also laughed when told there was no silverware for our food.
