Description

Dallas Observer's Description

CLOSED A small, plain beige building in the West End is a temple to the most popular Japanese food style stateside -- with forays into other elements of the Land of the Rising Sun's cuisine like teriyakis and curries. There are also a smattering of Chinese dishes grouped under the menu category "China Syndrome." This clever whimsy is the work of no amateur. Scott Melton, whose previous experience in sushi joints includes Deep Sushi and Sushi Nights in Deep Ellum, opened Atomic. There, he wanted to up the ante. Hot and spicy rolls dominate, as would be expected with such a name. Among the nuclear selections -- which popular opinion claims aren't kicking enough -- are the Devil and Cajun rolls.
