Description

Founded near Chicago in 1940, Dairy Queen, or DQ as it's affectionately known, has grown into an American institution with a global reach, boasting more than 5,700 locations as far-flung as Jamaica and the Ukraine. The iconic chain is best known for its sweet frozen treats, including its signature silky-smooth vanilla soft serve, which can be swirled into a cone (that curl on the top of the cone is trademarked, so don't try to copy it at home, lest you get a cease and desist letter from DQ's lawyers) or blended into a famous Blizzard with anything from Nerds to cookie dough. There are also sundaes with hot fudge, strawberry sauce, liquid marshmallow or peanut butter sauces, banana splits, and iconic treats like the Peanut Buster Parfait, which will perhaps bust Miami diners' belts, but certainly not their wallets.
