What with Dahlia's coconut cream pie making grown men and women weep, it's no surprise that the little bakery next door to Tom Douglas's Dahlia Lounge is as popular as his restaurants. Foodies go gaga over seasonal breads such as a wheat loaf studded with corn kernels, and the prewrapped sandwiches of the day (say, fried eggplant with chunky tomato relish and fresh mozzarella) are far, far better than anything you could pick up at Kress or Whole Foods. Should you happen to need dessert after breakfast or lunch, hey, it happens, we understand-go for the coconut cream puffs.
