Seafood, steaks, and deliciously creative extras rule the menu at Delray Beach's Cugini Grille, which offers daily martini specials, a happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., and a more cheaply priced menu at lunch. It's dinnertime, though, when the spotlight dishes shine: The pan-roasted halibut ($28) comes with shiitake mushrooms, artichoke hearts, mashed red bliss potatoes, and a braised escarole in a sherry wine sauce; the twin lamb chops ($36) are served with asparagus and a mint drizzle; the house favorites include the "big" surf and turf, a market-priced grilled ten-ounce Maine tail plus a ten-ounce filet mignon with drawn butter, burgundy demi glace, and sautéed spinach. There's also a solid burger ($14), topped with apple-wood smoked bacon. Worth checking out as well is the nine-for-nine bucks lunch, which includes penne Bolognese and chicken misto. Private party rooms are available if you want to dine this lusciously among friends, and even on a crowded night, the service here is good. Beautiful ten-ounce martinis - all subject to the aforementioned specials - round it all out; the "watermelon sunshine," with its splash of Dekuyper Watermelon Pucker, is charmingly Floridian.
