The Cubby Hole is a gay neighborhood watering hole that dubs itself "the best little butch bar in Fort Lauderdale." A dimly lit, downtown hangout, the place somehow seems both rustic and urban, with brick and blue wooden walls, a platform with three dance poles, and cute, colorful lamps. The one-room juke joint features a pool table that costs 50 cents to play, except on Tuesdays, when it's free. There are various drink specials throughout the week, such as underwear night on Mondays and Wednesdays, when being underdressed gets you two-for-one drinks from 9 p.m. to close, and Thursdays, when bare chests get you the same special. Friday nights are $10 beer busts - all the drafts you can drink. On Saturday nights, dancers showcase their moves and bodies on the platform in one corner of the room. The bar serves pub fare, such as sandwiches, wings, and "butch" burgers. The Cubby Hole fronts Federal Highway, but the entrance is in the back.
