The food at Crispins-a restaurant that may be the first in our county to proudly label itself as a "comfort food" eatery-hews closely to diner fare because that's what "comfort food" is supposed to mean outside your mom's house. Nary a mouthful of the pot roast won't satisfy: soaked with gravy, slow-cooked to shreds, and served with a heap of mashed potato and julienned vegetables whose crunchy snap suggests that they are cooked with respect.
