Credo serves what it describes as Italian peasant cuisine in a modern setting. The tables are constructed from scrap wood by a Dutch craftsman, famous quotations are printed on the walls, and dishes carry prices no true peasant could pay. Still, whether you order a breaded Milanesa-style pork chop with lemon and salsa cecca or tripe carpaccio, the fancy (and costly) presentation of such typically unfussy food tastes better than the whole operation sounds in theory. Come for the entrées and gutsy antipasti like snails with mint and red wine, and don't bother with the pizza.
