The Crazy Pianos staff in CocoWalk takes as many food orders as song requests. Along with being one of the few remaining spots in the Grove to play live music nightly, the sing-along establishment also has a rather extensive menu. Large murals featuring pop culture stars such as Oprah and Mariah, giant faux trees in the center of the space, and singers/pianists battling for everyone's attention and tips might make it tough to concentrate on the cuisine. But head chef George Castaneda recommends the jumbo lump crab cakes ($12). They are pan-seared and served with mango purée, basil oil, and avocado cream. Other popular dishes include mahi-mahi ceviche shooters ($12) and Kobe beef sliders ($16). The shooters are composed of fresh mahi-mahi, key lime juice, serrano peppers, red and yellow diced peppers, yellow corn, and red onions. And the sliders are made with 100 percent Kobe beef and come with lettuce and tomato on a brioche bun. Crazy Pianos serves its entire menu until 3 a.m. and has two full-service bars. A mini red piano, where glasses are hung, is suspended above one of the bars. Diners and drinkers can eat inside or outside on a patio that overlooks the heart of Coconut Grove. Patrons can request songs and are encouraged to sing with their mouths full.
With two for one appetizers and drinks.
As you enter, you're welcomed by the booming sound of two pianists playing requests written by guests on their custom made "song request" napkins. A tree with psychedelic lights forms a canopy over the musicians who play everything from Journey's "Small Town Girl" to Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back" and all around the walls are painted with caricatures of various celebrities. It's a whimsical, fun place to dance, grab a drink and get crazy.
All right…first of all my issue with Crazy Pianos started even before get there, we were trying to make a reservation to celebrate my wife’s B-day for approximately 12 to 15ppl. I saw others reviews about charging $5 couvert which I never heard in a Miami restaurant/bar, but ok we can afford 5 bucks the place looks nice, once we got in contact with the place the office manager Jessica told us that we need to guarantee that all our guests will order a entrée…..what??? Are u serious??? No I cannot guarantee this but for sure we will drink, we are all 30’s and 40’s so we DRINK and definitely some will eat including my wife and myself, ok and then she sad that in this case we need to pre-order the drinks, WTF….kidding ???!!! Ok let me pre-order a pitcher of mojito and another pitcher of beer……she told us that this is not enough we need to pre-order appetizers for the table also. Are u serious??? Go to h*ll , we are going somewhere else, I just couldn’t believe about this conversation, when we go out we all eat and drink it’s just stupid making us and my guests to pre-order food and drinks, when we go out we never spend less than $120 couple, so that should be a $700 table minimum that they lost because of this bullsh*** Very disappointed, never will go there and definitely do not recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This place is great on weeknights as it is on weekends! The ambience is comforting...great music...fantastic food!
