For more than two decades, Cowgirl has been a favorite for parents and students who go to the several elementary schools in the immediate neighborhood, but the kitschy, Old West theme of the restaurant is appealing to stoners and comfort-food aficionados. The nachos are profuse, the chicken-fried-steak excellent, the enchiladas smothered in cheese, and the margaritas--frozen or not, served in a Mason jar--are strong as hell. While the prices may seem a bit high (with entrees topping out at around $20), the portion size is so humongous, you won"t need any appetizers. Lots of interesting Western lore is embedded in the walls.
