The red oak smoke on the barbecue at CorkScrew BBQ is what sets its pit apart from so many others in town. Although it's located just off a busy road south of The Woodlands, CorkScrew BBQ is a legit roadside 'cue stand: There's no indoor seating, just a few scattered picnic tables, and the massive pit is on full display with a scent that permeates your clothes and hair for hours. Try the moist brisket, the equally moist turkey or the whole roasted chicken to see what CorkScrew can really do.

In an area innundated with all manner of fast food along with the obligatory chinese food buffets CorkScrew BBQ stands out. I come from a family that loves their BBQ - my brother competes, my mother and step father judge competions and I live for a good family BBQ day.
The first time I had food from CorkScrew I was blown away...the brisket was tender and flavorful; the smoked turkey was amazing; and the pulled pork completely changed my perspective on the dish(as before I would never order pulled pork over brisket). Then one faithful day a co-worker got me an order of pulled pork tacos and now I'm addicted. I love the pico over cabbage over pork in a fresh corn tortilla with a salsa ranch sauce over the top. For the price of a meal on any fast food drive menu one can fill up on this hearty delicious tex-mex inspired meal.
You may have to wait a minute or two for your food because they are always busy, but the food and friendly owners make the wait well worth it. Skip all of those BBQ chains and head down to Budde Road if you want truely good Texan BBQ.
