Cool & Hot Tacos is just off of Interstate 35 at 8th Street. You've driven past it a million times on your way to the Dallas Zoo and noticed its ridiculously bright paint job. This isn’t your typical gas station that’s a gas station with a taquería in it, but an ex-gas station that has been converted into a restaurant that sells cheap tacos that hit the spot when you need tacos on the run. The tacos are Fuel-City small, but easily twice as delicious, with pastor and picadillo tacos leading the flavor charge. Order either (or both) on your choice of handmade flour or corn tortillas. The pastor is spicy and tender and the picadillo is so spicy you might need a snow cone to cool things off. (Don’t worry, they sell those too.) Cool and Hot Tacos is open 24 hours most days. They take credit cards and offer plenty of covered seating.
