Imagine if your coolest Latin American friends threw a nightly dinner party out of a small dining room in Soho and you'll have a pretty good idea of breezy West Village restaurant, Comodo. Former Worth Kitchen supper club hosts, married couple Felipe Donnelly and Tamy Rofe, run this charmer with a menu that reflects Donnelly's multicultural upbringing in Spain, Brazil, Mexico and the U.S. The strongest dishes are what you'd eat at home on a good night: a bit of braised pork with garlicky greens, mushrooms and mashed potatoes or fresh pasta in a creamy Bolognese. For dessert, dip into the smoked iced cream and be reminded of just blown-out campfire marshmallows. Hopefully the few dining room stumbles, like the overuse of smoked mozzarella and the occasional lack of attention from wait staff, will work themselves out.
