Community Bar is the anti-Midtown bar in Midtown. The atmosphere caters toward more mature adults. Not that it features violence or nudity or other licentious stuff TV has made us associate with the words "adult" and "mature." Rather, the atmosphere is neat and quaint without a lot of cutesy ironic stuff on the walls, and clean bathrooms are important to both the staff and the clientele. Chef Bob, a Houston fixture, runs a bar-style menu that fuses several different types of cuisine - and he makes it all from scratch. Standard items like nachos and cheesesteaks are prepared with much more attention than at your average "dump it in the fryer" bar, and Bob gets creative with items like goat cheese egg rolls and curries. Ask him to cook you something special (meaning off-menu) and he will, too.
