Tucked away on the far eastern edge of the Upper East Side, Clearview’s 1st and 62nd Street Cinemas is generally pretty empty, but this also means its usually clean, and there's no line. That makes it the spot to see first-run blockbusters and the kind of mainstream film that sells out farther downtown, but getting there’s a commitment. The cinema is a three-avenue walk from the nearest subway stop, and there’s not much else to do in the area when a film lets out.
