Remember the Alamo? Church's Chicken was founded in 1952 near the San Antonio icon; the chain now operates 1,700 outlets in locations as exotic as Indonesia and Honduras. Church's offers the Dallas / Fort Worth masses a taste of home cooking with fried chicken, scratch-made honey butter biscuits, and crinkle fries. There's also fried okra, spicy jalapenos, and coleslaw for those looking to add a bit of vegetation to their drive-thru meal. The fried chicken chain was owned by the same parent company as arch nemesis Popeye's until 2004; since breaking away it has stepped up its menu offerings with a spicy chicken option, plus nuggets and sandwiches.
