The original Christian's Tailgate on Washington Avenue — no, not that Washington Avenue; keep heading north until you cross I-10 — is still one of the best places in the city to relax with a burger, a beer and a sports game or three (the place is filled with TV screens, large and small), even after 70 years. The beer selection has grown more impressive over time, and the rugged burgers with their hand-formed patties and ample toppings are as good as ever.
