Chophouse Miami Bistro & Lounge

First, Manny's Chophouse got chopped. Then the ax fell on Chop House Miami. Now new chef/proprietor Jacques Van Staden is hoping the third time is the charm with his recently opened reimagining of the twice-failed Biscayne Boulevard space, whose name has been tweaked to Chophouse Miami Bistro & Lounge. Van Staden, who has cooked with top toques such as Michel Richard, Jean-Louis Palladin, and Gray Kunz, has tweaked the Chophouse menu too, dishing up a variety of "globally inspired small plates," which in your mouth translates to goodies such as glazed pork belly with papaya salad and yellow curry vinaigrette, pecan-crusted sea bass with spiced pumpkin puree, milk-fed veal with artichoke ragout, and goat cheese panna cotta with beet confiture. The dining room has been tweaked too, with seating for 140 indoors and 60 on a cigar-friendly patio, plus an "interactive wine tasting area" and private dining room.
