This sister restaurant to the popular Chez Papa Bistro on Potrero Hill is darker, sleeker, and more ambitious than its casual, equally French sibling. Located on the small plaza created in 2008 next to the Old Mint, Chez Papa Resto has modern, largely black decor (with touches of orange and exposed brick, more visible at lunch than at dinner), and a modern take on classic French cuisine from chef David Bazirgan (with Provencal touches evident). It can be noisy at night, but you can still enjoy conversation as well as the good food.
