A newcomer on the food truck circuit, Chef on 4 Wheels sells classic Mediterranean street food from a bright blue truck adorned with an emblem featuring "Happy Greek," a heavily mustachioed chef. But despite his immaculate toque and fresh-pressed cook's uniform, you shouldn't expect chef-driven, highly creative fare. The name of the game here is basic gyros and kebabs with the usual fillings. A basic menu is split into five categories of pita platters ($7 to $10) and one mixed platter ($21). Popular choices include the falafel pita, a traditional croquette of fried fava beans rolled in sesame seeds and spices served in a warm pita with a dollop of hummus, and the supreme gyro pita, thin-sliced marinated lamb served with tomatoes, onions, lettuce, feta cheese, and tzatziki sauce.
