The Charlack's not big, but it's not too small, and close to 100 people can fit inside before things get uncomfortable. The small tables are perfect for gathering to watch local bands. The crowd is usually an older one, appreciative of the competitively priced drinks and one of the best open jam sessions in St. Louis.
culver mom 'had to be there' for pool league?...lol...charlack pub is all about the best rock musicians in St. Louis!...yes the beer is $3 but with no cover, that is how the best of St. Louis are paid to play...wow what a show... i have been all over the country for a very long time and i have never seen anything this good...not for no cover...
Place is COMPLETELY ridiculous. We HAD to be there for a league. If you are not a beer drinker avoid this place. It cost us $4.00 for 2 Pepsis. The bartender brought out 2 CANS and 2 small disposable cups. Then preceded to explain to us that after 8:30 or 9 p.m. the sodas are $3.00 PER CAN!!!!! Complete waste of money. Plus the regulars apparently own the place and the staff is fine with the regulars telling you to move out of their seats "cause that is where they ALWAYS sit" Trust me there are WAY too many GOOD bars to hang in than to even waste your time at this dump!
Charlack pub is not just your ordinary biker bar...... it is also the best kept secret for live music in st. louis. only the best of the best play there. I love the open mic jam nights....it gives an opportunity for local musicians to unite and play what they love...(some of them famous). The live bands on fri and sat nights are amazing to say the least. The drinks are stiff and reasonably priced. It is kind of a small place but there is seating outside with secure parking. When they BBQ (seems like every wed night) it is to die for. Mmm mmmmm good! If you like great music and good people..... CHARLACK PUB IS WHERE TO BE!!!!
Selecting the Riverfront Times' Best of St. Louis 2011 was no picnic. Choosing the winner meant several worthy candidates would go unmentioned -- until now. In this RFT Music series, we're beeboping a... More »
If there was a word that meant "the opposite of metrosexual," that word would describe the Charlack Pub. It's a smoky, unpretentious joint where you can play pool and listen to REO Speedwagon, the kind of place you can show up at by yourself and make friends. Best of all, they open at 6 a.m. on weekdays and 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays. They're closed Sunday, which is fine by us, because on Sunday respectable drinkers get their drink on at home.
