Catering to their suburban strip mall surroundings, Chan’s menu is focused mainly on familiar Hunan and Szechuan dishes as well as old standbys like egg foo young, moo goo gai pan, and moo shu pork with delicate pancakes and tangy hoisin sauce. Chinese American favorites like cream cheese wontons and sticky-sweet sesame chicken are amongst the restaurant’s most popular items. It’s affordable, quick, convenient (if you live in Lakeville), and service is cheerful, but you won’t find anything out of the ordinary here food-wise.
Whenever a chef emerges from the kitchen carrying the green net on the aluminum pole, all eyes turn to watch: Who's dinner? How many menus are there at Chan's, the brand-new bright Chinese place on 25th Street, just off Nicollet Avenue South?
