Description

Chandni means "moonlit market," but it's also the name of a popular film. Chandni, the restaurant, serves the full range of halal Pakistani fare, which means lots of meat, chicken, and goat, but plenty of vegetables, too. We loved the curried potatoes and chilis, the so-called "butter chicken" with its thick pink sauce, and also the oddball dish of chicken meatballs and boiled eggs, which the counterguy offered to pour extra gravy over. All-in dinner costs around $8, and includes two steamtable main courses; your choice of white rice, brown rice, or freshly baked flatbread; plus a side salad. The staff is supremely nice, and you can canoodle with the mainly Middle Eastern and West African denizens of the adjacent mosque.
