The venue’s Thursday and Saturday salsa nights typically draw more men than women, so it’s not uncommon to have guys fighting to be your dance partner. Those who want to jump right into the action can hit the floor from 9:30 p.m.-1:15 a.m. Less experienced folks can show up half an hour early to receive a quick lesson or refresher course before teaming up with a skillful and swarthy partner. The hardwood dance floor is one of the largest in Seattle at just less than 2,000 feet—and the place manages to fill up most salsa nights with close to 300 attendees. Chandeliers provide a vintage feel. Wear comfortable shoes unless you’re a pro and can flaunt those 6-inch heels painlessly throughout the night.
