OK, so the swing phenomenon fizzled as a hipster trend. That hasn’t stopped a lot of people from flocking to dance halls, and the shiny, spacious dance floor at Seattle’s magnificent Century Ballroom has been particularly busy. Almost hidden on the second floor of a building near the heart of Capitol Hill, this 300-person capacity room hosts salsa dancing, monthly gospel brunches, all-ages swing nights, and occasional concerts with national acts. The Ballroom, which also sports a restaurant and full bar, got spiffed up with a major renovation a few years back, but the gilded features, cavernous ceiling, and fine-tuned sound make the Century seem like a place from another time.

if you're always using the "i can't dance" excuse like me, go early to one of the dances and go for the quick lesson. you might not be dancing with the stars but you won't be sitting and watching either! i hated dancing but it got me to change my ways about salsa! anyone need a lead? let me know! :D it's a great time!
