The Central Saloon claims to be "Seattle's oldest saloon," and from the looks of the place, it just might be true. It still retains some of that old-timey charm, but this place is definitely a dive: drinks are cheap, the barkeep calls you "honey" and doesn't put up with nonsense, and if you see a dude stumbling out of the ladies' bathroom (the interior of which is decorated with a gorgeous spray paint mural of crows and cherry blossoms), well, that's just par for the course.
Gotta love a dive bar in downtown - a great place to grab a beer with friends!
Its real fame should be the best happy hour in Seattle - $3 wells, $4 doubles! Great bartenders and stiff pours! Does it get better? Oh yes it does! Live music 7 nights a week and when live music isn't happening most of the bartenders are playing hard rock/metal!
Yelp got it right by leading us here. We were sold when we saw a previous review stating that we'd find friendly tatted folks, good tunes, and stiff drinks, and we were not led astray. The two bands we saw were both amazing, and the crowd, though slim for a Friday night
