Looking for a relaxing day in the park? Enter the park at 79th Street and walk southwest. Youall eventually run into the Loeb Boathouse. The original Victorian structure burned down in a fire, but the main ideaarenting a rowboat or gondolaais still doable. Then walk further south and just around the bend you will happen upon Bethesda Terrace, made famous by Tony Kushner in Angels in America
. The 1873 angel sculpture is the only sculpture originally commissioned with the design of the park.
