Cellar Wine Bar occupies a charming spot in a building on the corner where 15th Street turns into 29th. As a result, it merges the sophistication of downtown with the intimacy of Highland for a feel that's unique in this city. The menu consists entirely of snack foods -- meats, cheeses, tapas and desserts -- all designed to complement the wine list. Cellar offers a couple dozen reds and whites by the glass, interesting selections that come mostly from the Old World. Oenophiles will certainly find something to love, while non-wine-drinking companions can peruse the sake or international beer selections.
Denver is notorious for sucking down and spitting out wine bars, so it's something of an accomplishment for an independently owned enoteca to last more than a hot minute. Cellar Wine Bar is now verging on three, and during that time, it's uncorked a perfect pairing of ambience, service and quality juice that continues to surprise and delight downtown dwellers. While the past year was not without ups and downs for this tiny LoHi spot (opening sommelier/manager Evan William and chef Joe... More »
We've visited a lot of wine bars in our time, and despite the fact that we should be their ideal customer -- we're obsessed with wine! We have an insatiable thirst! -- more often than not we end up disappointed rather than delighted. But that's never the case at Cellar Wine Bar, which is an incredibly comfortable spot with an amazing array of wine. Walking through the front door, you're greeted like family by one of Denver's most passionate wine purveyors, Evan Williams, who... More »

Cellar Wine Bar, tucked into a cool, minimalist space in a triangle-shaped building at the edge of LoHi, has the feel of a favorite New York City enoteca. But you'll soon remember that you're in Denver, thanks to CWB's relaxed, welcoming vibe. Sommelier Evan Williams greets you with near-giddy excitement; he's quick... More »
