One of the U District's favorite date spots, especially on a sunny evening when the tables on the veranda are full. The Indian menu lists a few Mediterranean dishes, perhaps because there's a Lebanese restaurant also called Cedars around the way. While veggie curries like palak paneer may be lackluster, the butter chicken is a cult fave, and the tandoor is the center of the kitchen: In the cylindrical clay oven, the cooks roast spice-rubbed salmon; juicy, blistered chicken; and naan in the shape of a giant's teardrop.
I always get the Tandori rack of lamb.
Unbelievable menu for very little dollars. This place is very easy on your wallet and the return is through the roof. There can be a long wait sometimes but there's another place just north with the same menu that often has shorter lines.
If you like Mango - grab one of their Mangolasses! It's a delicious Mango shake!
